Welcome to the SOLAR Web Site, the homepage for the SAGE III Educational Outreach Program. If you are a science teacher (K-12) looking for ways to get your students actively involved in research being conducted by NASA, you have come to the right place. The SOLAR web site introduces students and teachers to one of NASA's major satellite-based programs designed to study the Earth's atmosphere, the Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas ExperimentIII (SAGE III). This web site has links to the SAGE III homepage and other key web sites, helpful to students researching related science topics and teachers preparing lesson plans. Students are offered opportunities to contribute to the program by collecting atmospheric data at their school locations and reporting their results to NASA.
