S'COOL: Satellite Photos for Montana, March 12, 1997

The satellite images for March 12, 1997 include the entire state of Montana. Again the small box over Big Timber represents the area analyzed. On this day the infrared (left) image shows a large warm area (indicated as gray), indicating clouds low in the atmosphere where it is relatively warm. The even warmer surface can be seen to the south and west as a darker gray. The visible image (right panel) is bright but variable, indicating a mostly thick cloud with some thinner parts.
