7th Grade Teachers Share their Classroom Management Suggestions
I teach mathematics and science to Sixth, Seventh and Eighth graders. First of all, I always look for projects that will help my students learn something related to science. When I found this Program I thought this is a great opportunity for students to really learn about clouds and climate and also to relate to scientists. This is what I do. Once I have the schedule, I look at my classes and I give them assigments accordingly. For example if I have Sixth Graders from 11:00AM to 12:00 PM and the schedule falls under these hours Sixth Graders will do the observations, in the afternoon Seventh graders will do it and on Fridays Eighth graders because I have them the whole morning. See we work as a team. It is much easier if you have the class for the whole day! But to me the most important value is that students are taking real data and real measurements. Then when we study graphs we can use real data from our observations. It is amazing to hear students making observations, all of the sudden they can name clouds and distinguish between a cloud and a contrail, they talk about pressure and relative humidity, barometric pressure... One of them said I never look at the sky, Wow! I loved it!
