S'COOL: Free E-mail Services
Have Internet access, but no email account? That doesn't have to happen any more. There are a number of web sites that now offer free email access.
What are the advantages? Well, you can retrieve your email from anywhere that you have access to a web browser, be that your classroom, the local library, your computer at work, or a friend's system.
Disadvantages? Well, you have to put up with pesky advertising banners appearing on the mail page. Many require you to fill out a questionnaire so they can gear the advertising towards your interests. Some, but not all of the services will sell your email address to other potential advertisers. Some give you the option (there are folks that like junk mail!) of not allowing your email address to be passed on.
I've included a list at the bottom of this article of places I've found who offer this service.
How do you sign up? Quite simple, really. Go to one of the URLs listed below and fill out the requested information. Then all it takes is logging into the service and you can retrieve your email.
