Cloud Photo of the Month

Meteoro provocado por tormentas de gran desarrollo vertical. Fue tomada el 26 de Julio a las 16 hrs. en Capital Federal (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
Inset: Meteoro producido por las nubes de gran desarrollo vertical como es el caso de las nubes cumulonimbus. El tamaño de granizo fue histórico para nuestra región, ya que nunca se han registrado de éste tamaño (pelotas de tenis). Como consecuencia hubo daños considerables en el parque automotor, con ruptura de parabrisas y lunetas. Inclusive se desplomó un techo de un garage aplastando a los autos que habían buscado refugio ahí.

Translation:
Hail caused by storms of great vertical development. Taken the 26 of July at 16:00 in the Federal Capital (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
Inset: Hailstones produced by clouds of great vertical development as is the case of cumulonimbus clouds . The size of the hail was historic for our region, since they have never recorded that size (tennis balls). Thus consequences were considerable damages in the vehicle park, with rupture of windshield and headlights. Also the leaning of the ceiling of a garage squashing itself to the cars that had taken refuge there.
