Cloud Photo of the Month

La foto fue sacada en Pujato, el día 23 de noviembre de 2001 a la hora 18:30, por una alumna que asistía al Taller de Ciencia en esa época. Corresponde a la base de un cúmulo nimbo c on mamatus. Los "mamatus" consisten en glóbulos de nubes que cuelgan de la parte inferior del yunque de una nube de tormenta. Suelen produci r tormentas violentas, fuertes lluvias y aguaceros o granizo.
Translation:
The photo was taken in Pujato, on November 23, 2001 at 18:30, by a student who attended the Factory of Science at that time. It corresponds to the b ase of a cumulonimbus cloud with mammatus. "Mammatus" consists of cloud globules that hang from the lower part of a storm cloud. Usually they produc e violent storms, strong rains and heavy showers or hail.
