Cloud Photo of the Month

Las nubes "como lana" corresponden a altocumulos, que suelen crear en el cielo formas variadas e interesantes. Los altocumulos suelen formarse cuando una gran masa de aire asciende a niveles medios empujado por una masa continental o un sistema frontal, y la humedad se condensa sobre un area circundante, que da lugar a su caracteristica de estructura cumuliforme. Se pueden producir ligeras precipitaciones si el banco es bastante grueso. No obstante, si la extension de la formacion de altocumulos aumenta durante el curso del dia, puede indicar la aproximacion de un sistema frontal que trae lluvia.

The clouds "as wool" corresponds to altocumulus, that usually create in the sky varied and interesting forms. The altocumulus usually form when a great air mass ascends at mean levels pushed by a continental mass or a frontal system, and the humidity condenses on a surrounding area, that gives rise to its characteristic of cumuliform structure. Slight precipitation can be produced if the bank is thick enough. However, if the extension of the formation of altocumulus increases during the course of the day, it can indicate the approach of a frontal system that brings rain.
