Materials Needed:
- Poetry Books
- Cloud Charts
- Paper and pencil
- Crayons, paints, colored pencils
Strategies and Procedures:
- Display a cloud chart. Study it together. Take the class outside
and observe the clouds. Compare them to the chart.
- In the classroom brainstorm and write group poetry. Read poetry about the
weather written by well known poets like Carl Sandburg's "Fog"
- Encourage the writing of weather poetry. Some may need to draw pictures
about the weather to get ideas.
