Strategies and Procedures:

  1. Display a cloud chart. Study it together. Take the class outside and observe the clouds. Compare them to the chart.
  2. In the classroom brainstorm and write group poetry. Read poetry about the weather written by well known poets like Carl Sandburg's "Fog"
  3. Encourage the writing of weather poetry. Some may need to draw pictures about the weather to get ideas.
