Welcome...

...to the Geosynchronous Imaging Fourier Transform Spectrometer(GIFTS) Home Page. This instrument is currently being built by NASA's Langley Research Center in partnership with the University of Wisconsin(UW), the Space Dynamics Laboratory(SDL) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration(NOAA). GIFTS is an Earth Science Enterprise effort that will combine new and emerging sensor and data processing technologies to achieve revolutionary advances in meteorological observations and weather forecasting. As part of the New Millennium Program, GIFTS, designated Earth Observing-3, will demonstrate revolutionary science and enabling technologies with a Geosynchronous Earth Orbit technology demonstration program.
